Editorial standards & medical review

Who we are & our independence

StemCellAtlas is a stem-cell therapy comparison and cost resource. We are produced in partnership with the EU GMP clinic Stem Plus Clinic (Sofia, Bulgaria), and that relationship is disclosed openly on every relevant page — enquiries are routed to the partner clinic. To keep that commercial relationship from distorting the information, we hold ourselves to the standards below. We list competing clinics neutrally, publish the same cost data regardless of who benefits, and never quote a success rate we cannot source.

How we source information

• Primary sources first. Clinical claims are checked against ClinicalTrials.gov (registered-trial counts shown with the date retrieved), FDA and EMA approval status, ISSCR patient guidance, and peer-reviewed literature on PubMed.
• Cost data is aggregated from published clinic and medical-tourism pricing, EUR-normalised, with the source named per country and a stated “as of” date. It is released as a downloadable dataset under CC BY 4.0 on the Cost Index.
• We do not use patient testimonials or before/after images as evidence of efficacy.

Medical review

Condition content is checked against ISSCR, FDA and EMA guidance by our editorial team together with named, practising physicians from the partner clinic — matched to the condition area. Our reviewers:

Reviewer profiles are published on the clinic’s healthcare-professionals page. A “Last reviewed” date appears on each condition page.

Our honesty standard

• We state clearly that most stem-cell therapies are investigational, not approved cures, and we show the approval status per condition.
• We treat any specific high “success rate” as a red flag — there is no regulator-verified figure for most uses, and we say so on our success-rates hub.
• We lead with what the evidence actually supports, including when conventional treatment is the better choice.

Updates & corrections

Pages carry a visible “Last reviewed” date and a machine-readable dateModified. Trial counts and cost data are refreshed periodically. Spotted an error? Email stemplusclinic@stemcellatlas.com and we will review and correct it, noting material changes.
