Infusion of cells into the bloodstream.
Injecting cells directly into the bloodstream, allowing them to circulate and home to damaged tissues. IV delivery is simple and non-invasive, making it popular in clinics. The drawback: most injected cells don't survive the journey (mechanical stress, immune capture) or settle in organs unrelated to the target (primarily lungs and liver). Ask clinics whether they've measured where their cells actually lodge using imaging or biomarkers; many assume homing without verifying it. IV is safest for systemic immune effects (paracrine signalling into circulation), less effective for localised damage like cartilage loss.
