Status: Neither compound is approved for human use. Widely compounded and sold as an anti-aging stack; prohibited for athletes.

This is the most-marketed “anti-aging peptide stack” in commercial clinics, yet the combined PubMed record is tiny — roughly 33 indexed papers for CJC-1295 and 54 for ipamorelin, a few dozen human records between them, mostly pharmacology from the 2000s. They demonstrably raise growth-hormone and IGF-1 levels; nobody has shown that this improves aging outcomes, and chronically raising IGF-1 points the wrong way in most longevity biology.

What they are

CJC-1295 is a long-acting analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone; ipamorelin is a selective ghrelin-receptor agonist. Both push the pituitary to release more growth hormone, which is why clinics pair them: one lengthens the signal, the other adds pulses.

What the research actually shows

Early pharmacology confirmed the hormone-raising mechanism in humans — elevated GH pulses and IGF-1 over days to weeks. Development largely stopped there, and no outcome trial in healthy aging adults has ever been published. Marketing claims about muscle, sleep, fat loss and “cellular repair” are extrapolated from GH physiology, not demonstrated with this stack.

Risks and open questions

Chronically elevated GH/IGF-1 raises glucose-regulation concerns and theoretical tumour-growth questions — notable because most longevity research associates lower, not higher, IGF-1 signalling with longer lifespan in model organisms. Water retention and carpal-tunnel-like symptoms are reported with GH elevation generally.
