What they are

Preclinical work on wound repair, scarring and hair-follicle signalling is abundant and genuinely promising. Human aesthetic evidence is early: small studies of microneedling-plus-exosomes report better outcomes than microneedling alone for scars and photoaging, and pilot hair-density studies exist — short, small, often industry-linked. No product has passed a drug-grade approval anywhere, which is why regulators have publicly warned about injectable exosome offerings after adverse events.

Reading the trend

Two honest questions cut through most exosome marketing: what cells did these vesicles come from, and what exactly was measured in humans? Products rarely answer either. Topical use after microneedling has the best of the thin evidence; standalone creams are speculative; unregulated injections carry real risk for no demonstrated benefit.
