Mineral springs and recovery: keep balneotherapy separate from cell-treatment evidence
A spa or mineral-water visit may be a preference or a distinct rehabilitation intervention; it does not validate a cell product or prove synergy with it.
First ask whether bathing, heat, immersion or travel is clinically appropriate after the specific procedure. Wounds, vascular disease, infection risk, neurological impairment, blood-pressure instability and mobility limitations can change suitability. Written advice from the responsible clinician should override a general wellness itinerary.
Define balneotherapy as its own intervention. Record water composition where relevant, temperature, duration, frequency, supervision and co-interventions. Do not describe “mineral water” as one standard dose, and do not combine its outcomes with a cell procedure without a study designed to separate their effects.
Use condition-specific evidence and clinically meaningful outcomes. Relaxation, pain, sleep, mobility and quality of life are different endpoints, while biomarker changes do not automatically show durable benefit. An observational improvement during a recovery trip cannot distinguish the effects of rest, expectation, rehabilitation, natural variation, water exposure or the cell intervention.
Verify the facility, supervision, accessibility, hygiene, emergency plan and contraindications. A tourism designation, traditional use or proximity to a clinic is not medical accreditation. Costs and availability should be checked for the actual dates and kept separate from the clinical quotation.
Present mineral springs as an optional, separately consented recovery or research component when appropriate, never as a mechanism that activates cells or amplifies efficacy. Product regulation, trial authorisation, manufacturing evidence and clinical outcomes remain independent questions.
