Cell Viability

The proportion of living, functional cells in a preparation — a key quality metric.

Why Cell Viability matters when choosing treatment

The percentage of cells in a treatment batch that are alive and functional post-processing. A high-potency product demands high viability (typically >70–80%); low viability means paying for dead cells and risking weak efficacy. Clinics must measure viability before injection, but quality standards vary: some use basic dye-exclusion tests, others employ flow cytometry and functional assays. Ask clinics for their viability assay method, their typical percentages, and how they adjust dosing if viability is lower. Also ask whether they discard batches below a threshold or inject them anyway; reputable clinics have minimum standards.
