Why Placental MSC matters when choosing treatment

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from placental tissue—amnion, chorion, or decidua—collected after birth without harm. Placental MSCs are abundant, expand readily in culture, and retain strong immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. They're less immunogenic than bone-marrow MSCs, making them suitable for allogeneic use. Clinics using placental MSCs over bone marrow are often employing a well-established alternative with practical scaling advantages. Ask whether they harvest from vaginal or caesarean deliveries (different tissue composition) and whether they've validated immunophenotype (CD90, CD105, CD34 markers) to ensure consistency across batches.
